A flow sensor inside the CO2 incubator? Galileo can do that!

Microfluidic cell culture technology is advancing rapidly, with many researchers now adding physiologically relevant flow to their cell models. One important experimental consideration is which of your fluidic setup instruments can be placed inside the CO2 incubator, where you want them?

It is advantageous to keep the entire liquid flow path at the same temperature and humidity during an experiment to minimise the risk of developing micro-bubbles. Miniscule bubbles in the medium can expand with an increase in temperature and become large enough to disrupt the flow profile or even cell growth. Moreover, fluidic tubing can be gas permeable, complicating dissolved CO2 composition and pH control.

Many pumps and other pieces of electronic equipment are not suited for use in the humid environment of a CO2 incubator.

Our new Galileo flow sensor is an ideal companion for your cell culture experiment inside the CO2 incubator. Galileo is perfectly suited for use with an incubator-friendly pump. Likewise, when paired with a pressure-driven flow controller, pneumatic tubing can be secured through the door of the incubator while the Galileo flow sensor stays close to your medium and chip, keeping the  entire liquid path inside a homogeneous environment.
